THE SMASHING PUMPKINS AND BARCLAYS CENTER JOIN FORCES WITH THE BROOKLYN RECOVERY FUND TO CONTRIBUTE TO SANDY RELIEF BY OFFERING A PORTION OF A SPECIALLY PRICED $25 TICKET FOR SHOW SET FOR MONDAY, DECEMBER 10
Dec 7, 2012Leading up to their New York City show on Monday, December 10, THE SMASHING PUMPKINS and Barclays Center (where the band will be performing) have joined forces with the Brooklyn Recovery Fund to contribute to Hurricane Sandy relief efforts by offering the charity a portion of a specially priced $25 ticket available now at: http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/00004916E157C497.
The Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center, Forest City Ratner Companies and the Brooklyn Community Foundation each pledged $100,000, for a total of $400,000 to create the Brooklyn Recovery Fund. Brooklyn Recovery Fund provides support to Brooklyn’s nonprofit organizations working with the communities and individuals most affected by Hurricane Sandy.
At the Barclays Center show, the iconic PUMPKINS--singer/guitarist BILLY CORGAN, guitarist JEFF SCHROEDER, drummer MIKE BYRNE and bassist NICOLE FIORENTINO--are performing their acclaimed new OCEANIA CD in full and for the second half of the show they’ll play classics and deep cuts from their multi-platinum body of work. The PUMPKINS are backed by visuals prepared by Sean Evans, whose most recent project was assisting Roger Waters on the newest staging of “The Wall.” The PUMPKINS are using new technology in video-mapping to create something new and previously unseen. Joining the PUMPKINS is English group Morning Parade.
