Management Team Selected for Nassau Coliseum

Hires Include General Manager, VP of Human Resources, Senior Director of Programming, and Director of Marketing

--AEG Facilities Extends Role as Operator from Barclays Center to Renovated Venue--

Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment has named key members of the management team for the new Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum including the general manager and leaders of its human resources, programming, and marketing divisions.

Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment (BSE), the business enterprise that controls Barclays Center, the Brooklyn Nets, and the New York Islanders business operations, also is extending the role of AEG Facilities from Barclays Center to become Nassau Coliseum’s operator. BSE will continue to run programming, marketing, and sales for both venues and provide oversight for AEG Facilities.

Following an extensive renovation, Nassau Coliseum is scheduled to be completed by spring 2017, and transformed into a world-class sports and entertainment destination.

Nassau Coliseum’s operations team will be led by AEG Facilities General Manager Matt Felker, who will transition from his role as Assistant General Manager of Barclays Center. Felker, who resides on Long Island, has worked at Barclays Center since 2012, gaining invaluable experience as a member of the venue’s grand opening team. Felker will report to Steve Rosebrook, the General Manager of Barclays Center, whose role is expanding to become AEG Facilities Regional General Manager, supervising operations for Barclays Center and Nassau Coliseum.

Rosemarie Milano has been promoted to AEG Facilities Vice President of Human Resources with oversight of Nassau Coliseum and Barclays Center. Milano will oversee staffing, labor relationships and other HR-related functions. Milano, who lives on Long Island, previously served as Senior Director of Human Resources at Barclays Center for more than three years.

Nick Vaerewyck has joined Nassau Coliseum’s management staff as Senior Director of Programming after spending a decade at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Ariz. There, he served most recently as Director of Event Booking, managing more than 130 sporting, concert, and family events annually.

As Director of Marketing, Matthew Ackermann will handle the day-to-day marketing functions of Nassau Coliseum. Previously, Ackermann was Director of Marketing in the athletics department at the University of San Francisco, where he oversaw marketing and promotion strategy for six sports.
