Back to School Bash will be Held on the Daily News Plaza at Barclays Center on Saturday, September 7
Sep 5, 2013BROOKLYN (September 5, 2013) –Barclays Center will be hosting a Back to School Bash on the Daily News Plaza on Saturday, September 7 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. The rain date of the event will be Saturday, September 14.
The event and resource fair will feature a Kiddie Corner with face painting, balloon artist, temporary tattoo parlor and DIY friendship bracelets; a talent showcase and fashion show - presented by local children’s clothing shop Stork - showcasing the latest back to school fashions, hosted by DJ Envy from Power 105.1; and activities from local Brooklyn businesses including New York Chess and Games, Dancewave and Puppetry Arts. Modell’s Sporting Goods will give away t-shirts to the first 500 registrants and will also give away a gift card.
The Brooklyn Nets dance team, the Brooklynettes, and the Brooklyn Nets Super Hero, BrooklyKnight, will be in attendance.
Food trucks – including Mike N Willie’s, Carl's Steaks, Valducci's Original Pizza, Morris Grilled Cheese and Andy's Italian Ices – will be selling treats during the event. Visitors will be able to enjoy their food selections at bistro-style tables and chairs set up throughout the plaza. Barclays Center and its majority owner and developer Forest City Ratner Companies partnered with Dispatch, a food truck event production company, to bring food trucks to the Daily News Plaza at Barclays Center throughout the summer.
Health screenings and information will also be provided by The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Barclays Center’s Official Hometown Hospital
